HOW WE'RE TRANSFORMING THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION PROCESS
ScaleUp Spaces was founded on a simple but powerful idea: people shouldn't have to wait until construction is complete to experience their space. Our founders, Luca and Briar, recognized that traditional blueprints and even 3D renderings often fall short in conveying the true feel of a space.
That realization became the foundation for ScaleUp Spaces a solution we wish we had when building our own homes. Our mission is to help people not only plan their spaces with precision but also experience them in a way that brings their vision to life before construction even starts.

Founder and CEO
Luca Ratiu
After years in the healthcare sector, I worked closely with clients to optimize the layout of their medical equipment, projects that demanded accuracy and clear visualization. I saw how challenging it was to make confident decisions with just blueprints and renderings, and I knew there was an opportunity to make the process smoother, faster, and more intuitive. ScaleUp Spaces bridges the gap between planning and reality, making it easier for clients to step into their future spaces with confidence and clarity.

Briar Spencer
Being passionate about creating, whether that’s building something with my hands, designing a space, or finding better ways to bring ideas to life. Over the years, I’ve worked in the construction and design world, eventually owning Bateman Fine Cabinetry, where I’ve had the chance to work with incredible clients and talented tradespeople. I realized that people struggled visualizing their space before it’s built. No matter how good a drawing or rendering looks, it never quite captures the feeling of standing in your future kitchen, closet, or office.

After more than 40 years in the construction industry and having owned multiple Home Hardware stores over the years, Paul has seen firsthand how challenging it can be for homeowners to bring their dream homes to life from a simple blueprint. From drawings that feel abstract to design choices that are hard to visualize, he’s watched countless clients struggle to make confident decisions. That experience inspired him to join ScaleUp Spaces, a solution that bridges the gap between planning and reality.
